The new residential development with 48 apartments is located in Schlierens Rüti district, characterised by its industrial context. The existing underground level, which functions as an urban plateau with its parking structure, is mantained and becomes the base for two new stepped volumes. Together, the smaller front volume and the larger main building form an urban threshold, defining both the address and the entrance into the ensemble. At ground level, two-storey atelier apartments respond specifically to the site. Above them, the regular floors are organised around a hybrid circulation system that combines stair cores with open gallery access. The north-facing gallery creates an active layer of use even along the back facade. The apartments are predominantly arranged as north–south oriented units: kitchens and dining areas face north, while bathrooms and storage rooms occupy the deeper areas of the plan. To the south, a generous sequence of living and sleeping spaces unfolds, complemented by private outdoor areas in the form of loggias. On the top floor, the density of the standard levels dissolves into larger apartment types. The structure is conceived as a skeleton frame with a lightweight secondary construction. The façade consists of ventilated timber elements finished with glazed ceramic cladding, giving the buildings a robust yet refined material expression.
